DYD Scholarship

The $4000 DYD Scholarship is available to be awarded to one recipient from the Northern New England District of the Assemblies of God. The DYD scholarship is for first time entering freshmen and transfer students. The students must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA from high school and must continue a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA while attending Valley Forge Christian College. The scholarship will be paid $500 a semester over a four-year period for a total of $4000.

Who should apply?
Any high school senior who is planning on attending VFCC in the fall of 2008 and will be an entering freshman in that semester.

How do I apply?
1 - Fill out a DYD scholarship application that can be obtained in one of the following ways:

Pick up an application at the District Youth Retreat, April 17-19, 2008 at Bethel Assembly of God in Portsmouth, NH

2 - Mail the completed form to the following address:

The application must be postmarked by MAY 19, 2008 to be considered for the scholarship.

NOTE: The completed application must be sent to the NNED Youth Department. Please do not send your application to Valley Forge Christian College.

How is the recipient of the scholarship selected?
All the applications received at the District Office with a postmark of May 19, 2008 or before will be compiled and evaluated by the District Youth Committee. They will make their recommendations to Pastor Ed and he will make the final selection. The recipient as well as those who applied, but were not selected, will be notified of that decision by the end of June, 2008. Pastor Ed will forward the signed application to VFCC, and the student will be notified by VFCC once they have processed the application.

The recipient of the previous year's scholarship will be announced at the District Youth Retreat in April of the following year.
